Apple flatbread with caramelized onions and arugula pesto ✨🍎

Today I’ve partnered with Yesapples to share this delicious apple flatbread recipe!

If putting apples on a pizza sounds a bit odd, I get that, but you’re just going to have to trust me on this one. This apple flatbread is loaded with balsamic caramelized onions, smoked Gouda, sweet bites of apple and topped with a spicy arugula pesto. It’s impressive yet pretty easy to pull together in under an hour. Plus, it’s vegetarian and can easily be made vegan!

Ingredients:
1 lb pizza dough, homemade or store bought
1/4 cup olive oil + more as needed
2 large yellow onions, thinly sliced
1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
2 tsp fresh or dried thyme
3/4 tsp salt
1 Koru or Snapdragon apple, thinly sliced
6 oz smoked Gouda (vegan if needed)
1 tbsp honey
